This was my first race and I'm ashamed to admit that it was last minute because a friend couldn't do it and so I ended up taking and running with his race number! At the time I didn't realise that that was a big no-no but I do now!

For a first race it was good to do a great run event as the event registration, finish bag, t shirt and medal were all very high quality. Information about the event was also very clear and the course information easy to follow too.

It was obviously a very busy event due to the size of it and this meant that unfortunately the baggage buses were further away than is ideal and because I was running late, it was very difficult to get in to the appropriate start area on time. I recognise that this is more my problem than the race organisers', but it was logistically quite difficult to find my way around the starting area.

I'd definitely recommend this to someone as a first race though because the atmosphere was good and the fact that it feels like such a big event didn't bother me at all!
