← Rock n Roll Liverpool

I booked for the marathon. I wasn’t able to attend the expo so my number was posted out. That all worked fine.

Getting to the start was simple with a shortish walk from rail stations.

The start was busy and lively at Albert Docks. Bag check was quick and simple. Plenty of facilities too.

The start was slightly delayed but fine. From Albert Docks the course goes past the 3 graces and the Beatles statue then through the Centre to the two football stadiums. Every few miles we’re a band belting out some music. The route has a few hills and lots of parks. Back through the city, the Cavern, past the 3 graces (love them), through the Chinese District and through more parks to Penny Lane. More parks and back along the front back to the finish. There were a decent amount of water / lucozade / SIS gel stations.

I had hoped for more crowd support. Compared to others I have done Liverpool isnt as well supported - the finish line being the exception and that was brilliant.

Plenty of goodies at the end and great medal and decent tshirt

Some good facilities at the end too with more music - very decent event.
