I was lucky enough to receive a place on behalf of my local charity, the registration process was very simple.
The pre race pack arrived in plenty of time and was very informative.
The race was in 2 waves, 9am and 9:10am. Warmups were held for each wave.
The weather was extremely hot and water stations were at the 5, 10, 15 and 20KM marks - bottles of water were handed out with no queues.
The course is very uninspiring and it mentions in the pre race pack headphones wouldn't be required as there was plenty of entertainment along the course, if I were to run it again I would make sure I had music.
A number of people required medical attention due to the heat, this was provided very quickly - thankfully.
The course finished on Deansgate, thankfully my 9 year old son ran the last half a mile to get me over the line as by that point I was fit for nothing.
The goody bags contained the medal, t shirt, flavoured juice, cereal bar and a few other items.
Great medal, would I run it again - probably not
