A brand new race to the calendar; how would the event unfold? With Run Gatwick coming from the same stable as the brilliant Run Reigate, this was always likely to be a great new addition - we weren’t let down. Top organisation, a great race village with a great atmosphere, a lovely course (with requisite demon hill) and enthusiastic marshalling. Medal and finishers tee are top quality too and a it’s a testament to the repitation of the organisers to pull in star names to start the race!

Was it flawless? No: a finish gantry for the family race, away from the actual finish, was a tad confusing (not just me being dazed and confused - at least another couple of people commented on this) and the single lane road closure around the airport made the course a bit narrow and congested for a mile or so. But these are really minor things and, like it’s sister race, I’m sure this event will improve each year. Looking forward to being back in 2019!
