This race came as a recommendation, so I was expecting good things. The pre race information was plentiful, I must've received about 10+ emails... I paid for parking at the National Bowl which was a couple of miles from the start line at Stadium MK. This was fine and took about half an hour to walk in the morning as there were lots of other runners heading in the same direction, however...!!! Following the race, it took me over an hour to find my car. There was no help or signage to help you back to the car park. Google maps on my phone just took me on a walk around the pathways and subways of Milton Keynes!
The race itself, I really enjoyed. We set off in waves which is always a plus point. The first 10k was around the town centre which wasn't the most glamourous setting, after this, it was all country lanes, parks, lakes. The support was great as the weather was so good. If anything, it was too good. I've never completed a race in these conditions before and it was tough today, but the crowd, marshals and support of other runners got people through. A stadium finish awaited which is always good for a football fan.
The medal and tshirt are really nice and overall, the race is worth entering. It is one I would consider again - thanks to my friend for the recommendation
