Heard many good things about Chester Half Marathon & that prompted me to sign up for it. It matched those expectations.
Well organised, friendly race. Runners were kept well informed with regular Facebook updates & emails.
Race day atmosphere was good, baggage drop was smooth and efficient.
The race started at Chester Race Course & through the centre before it went rural taking in country lanes. It then headed back to the finish in the historic & beautiful city centre. During the middle rural sections the crowd was sparse but support at the beginning & end was 1st class.
Plenty of water stations to keep runners hydrated.
Finishers were given a top quality tech shirt, solid medal & a generous finisher's bag with plenty to enjoy if you have a sweet tooth.
A few mild hills but nothing major. The downhill sections made this a fast course with PB potential & it's a race I highly recommend.
The early bird £25 entry offer is a steel in my opinion.
In summary:
Highs: Great atmosphere, Lovely finisher's shirt & medal. Good opportunity to grab your fastest HM time.
Lows: I'm struggling to think of any negitive points
Bottom Line:
