Amazing crowds & amazing landmarks - but super hot in 2018.
Logistics were very simple and clear. Marshall’s were directing runners from the rail stations. Bag drop simple and whilst I arrived early at 8.30 there didn’t seem to be queues at all. Plenty of atmosphere and exciting from before the start.
i expected there to be stretched with little support from crowds but there wasn’t. The sunny day may not be ideal for runners it may have helped the crowds.
iconic landmarks on the route were wonderful and added to the experience. There were water stations ever mile which seemed excessive on a normal day. On a hot day they were invaluable. Organisers needed more and very poor than later runners had no water at a number of them.
Going over Tower Bridge was wonderful as were the crowds (and Racecheck cheer squad) at half way.
The crowds also brought plenty of jelly babies / Haribo etc for runners.
The final stretch around Westminster and the Mall were hugely memorable.
Mid highly recommend and would run it again given the chance.
