← Brighton Marathon

My second year in a row at the BM10k and it did not dissapoint. The route had changed slightly and included a short climb which may have affected the PB potential of the route but not for most as there seemed to be a lot of PBs on the day! I like this route as half of it is in the town, then the final half is out and back on the seafront, for those of you who don't like out and back runs, this breaks down the seafront section. Its a pretty flat route, the first mile is largely downhill, the fact it is part of the marathon weekend means it has a big race feel and the support on the course from the fab Brightonians is brilliant! They have sorted out baggage collection from last year too which was much better, perhaps more toilets in Preston Park would be good, queues are really long but well organised and I will do this again for sure! There is water on route, medals are good and this year we got a competitor t-shirt when we collected race packs rather than a finisher t-shirt. Goodie bag had the usual freebies and there was even a pint at non alcoholic beer for everyone after! What a great day!
