The race is small but friendly, brilliantly marshalled (huge support given when they must have been freezing various bits off) and offers a beautiful course, even with snow blowing in sideways! The route itself, through closed country lanes, is mildly undulating but with a longer, steeper climb from 7-8k. You get the remainder downhill so it’s all worth it!
If that’s not enough, you are greeted at the end with a decent medal and tables full of tasty cake. I rest my case, the race is a keeper!
