The fee was one of the more expensive. I didn’t like the heavy marketing of race photos, it was every day another email offering a discounted package.

Logistics were good, there is a tram next to the bag drop. The queues for the bag drop were long which caused a delay. There is a 10-15 min walk to the start, which was well advertised. Nice to start next to one big site (Old Trafford) and finish at Lancashire Cricket Club.

The race started on time and it was nice to get back to the atmosphere of a big city run.

There wasn’t the often zig zagging to pass runners who were in the wrong time pens which was a blessing.

I was hoping for some other notesble big city landmarks but there were none. I hoped for large crowds, but they were smaller than I’d hoped for. The route was to me dull, I could have been in any part of any normal city.

The course was flat and easy going. Plenty of water stations which were not crowded and didn’t have to slow at any. Didn’t like the look of the gels handed out. I didn’t see any sports drinks.

Some areas had great crowd Support and a few bands played which is always nice.

The finish is along a long straight and easily spotted which always helps. Nothing worse than seeing the finish at the last minute.

Bag collection was efficient - nice medal but not overly keen on the T-short (although it didn’t have loads of sponsors names on the reverse)

Definite PB course - most people speak very highly of it - I’m not sure I’d do it again though.
