The start is near a sport centre so you have use of the indoor facilities before you start. I got dropped off near the event so didn't need the bag drop so can't comment on that. The route was all coast line except  from the beginning of the race so it was amazing. It's fairly flat except by The Priory in Tynemouth and all the run is on pavement; it's a beautiful route. There was one water station at the half way point. The goodie bag at the end was a T shirt and a pair of socks. I love the t shirt especially as I live in London but there was no drink and no food at the end which was disappointing. I have never competed a run and not been offered a drink or some food. It's wouldn't stop me doing the run again; I would just be more prepared afterwards as I try to eat and drink a little after a race. Overall amazing and would recommend but for the cost of the run would expect a bit more in the goody bag at the end.
