← The Daffodil Dash Temple Newsam

The grounds of Temple Newsam near Leeds was the setting for the Daffodil Dash. It's Grim Up North Running always pick places that are nice to run. The only thing that couldn't be organised for today was the weather. As with all events, there was a choice of races to enter from 10k to Marathon. I was running the marathon as part of my challenge to run 12 in 12 months - but I was beat by the weather. There had been lots of rain and parts of the course were boggy, but that added to the fun. As the race went on, it seemed to get colder, and after 13.5 miles - I was done!

Take away the poor weather, then this was another fantastic Grim Up North event. The medal, as always, was a belter and it's always nice to get a bottle of beer in the goody bag. Huge thanks must go to the marshals for standing out in the cold and rain for hours - it doesn't go unnoticed!

It's Grim Up North events are well worth entering, friendly, fun and great goody bags
