The Limassol Marathon was my fist International race and second Marathon. The whole process of booking was made very simple by using one of the great packages arranged by #ukrunchat.

The family and I decided to extend the trip either side of the Marathon to make a fantastic holiday, we were not disappointed

The Marathon route was not one that encouraged you to stop and take pictures of the scenery but was a very well organised course with plenty room to be able to run due to the limited number of entrants.

Apart from on the start straight the course had very few spectators but I was fortunate enough be running in the #sub4fun bus being driven by expert pacer Paul Addicott and the encouragement, motivation and comradery set me up perfectly for the second half of the race which went along the coastal road past the Amathus Ruins before returning to the buzzing finish area on the Molos.

As an overall experience, this was the best event I have ever attended, the race was the reason for going but was not the highlight. The togetherness of the #Ukrunchat #Visorclub and #runmummyrun groups certainly made up for the lack of support and encouragement from the locals during the race and I look forward to many more races with the same group of like-minded, energetic and enthusiastic people.

I will be signing up to do this event again, loved it.
