This was another great 'How Hard Can It Be?' event.
Race took place on an old dis-used railway line. This was a multi lap race featuring a 9.4mile out & back route.
Registration was straight forward. Race numbers were collection on the day only.
Baggage was as basic as can be with. Bags were left on the floor so taking a bin bag to keep belongings clean was recomended.
Railway Ultra had a variety of distances options ranging from 9.4 miles to aproximately 38 miles.
The route was flat and scenic. Parts of the route were uneven and quite bumpy.
Runners were given a wristband to confirm they'd completed each lap.
Beauty of this type of race is runners have the option to select their prefered distance mid race.
This was on private land so local support was non-existant but the out and back course meant runners could support each other.
Aid stations were at the start and mid-point of each lap and contained water, cola and various things to eat.
Finishers were rewarded with a really nice medal and option of cakes, sweets ect.
In summary-
Denzil and his team at offer fun, friendly events with nice medals and a good race atmosphere.
They are flexible when it comes to distance options.
The out and back course might not be to everybody's liking but it didnt bother me.
The course was flat but some of the roads were bumpy and a little muddy in places.
Would I do this race again? 100% yes.
I attended this race with 4 friends. We all had a really good day.
