← The Quicksilver Hampton Court Half Marathon

On a nice sunny day when the sun eventually came out, much of this event was running along the river Thames back towards Hampton Court where Henry VIII was waiting for a few high fives. This section was great viewing and enjoyable on such a day.

We got there an hour early to get some nearby street parking and the organisation with the staggered starts depending on your pacing time seemed to work well which was probably needed with the amount of entrants. Toilets were queue free as we were there nice and early sp not sure how they were nearer to start time.

It was a nice and flat course albeit a bit congested and narrow at certain times meaning runners had no choice but to spill out to non closed roads and run in the cycle lane which could’ve been a bit hairy and a fair few bollards seem to be a bit of a hazard along the route. A couple of times i notied marshalls were stopping runners to let cars out of roads as well which also looked pretty frustrating to runners getting stopped.

Overall a enjoyable event which is nice and local for me and good PB potential which I achieved so one ill definitely attend again no problem. The goody bag and tech t-shirt are pretty good so we’ll worth doing if you haven’t before.
