This is my first time at the 4VHM. Previous attempts have been curtailed with a full race or race cancellation in the past.

The weather was grim. Smashrun noted a wind chill of -6C and it rained, sleeted and hailed persistently throughout the race leaving a slippery road surface due to the slush that was left by the weather. It doesn't leave much to the imagination as to why they've had to cancel in some previous years due to bad weather.

A massive THANKYOU to all the marshals who were brilliant. Today was not a day to be stood outside in and yet they were cheery and enthusistic regardless.

Those who know me know that I'm not one interested in participation medals and the like. 4VHM however do take this to a much higher quality than I've seen ( see pic) with a commemorative coin to all finishers. You also got a beanie hat as a finisher with race t-shirts available to purchase separately.
