← Buff Epic Trail 10k

First time I've been running down this part of South Wales and the scenery was pretty stunning and worth the entrance fee on its own. The weather certainly helped as it was a clear & crisp morning.

Pre Race: Registration was straight forward and the race info & briefing all came before the day and made life easy so we knew what was happening. Knew we needed £3 for parking & that it might not be straight forward getting up to the car park. Parking was a bit poor and due to the previous days rain if you parked on the grass you were reliant on the car infront being gone so you could leave. Not Ideal.

Race:  Marshalls walking around getting you to the start on time and the guys on the Loudspeaker were enthusiastic and good with the quick race safety brief, also nice they gave a brief outline of the course. Splitting the 5km & 10km was clear and no chance to mess up as it was said often.

The course is good, challenging & tough. Steady climb into a long decent then a long flat piece into the final 13% climb. The Course was on trails so not boggy and you could concentrate on your running and a good time. Certainly not a PB course but an enjoyable one.

Other: One water station after 2 miles, bit to early and not really needed at that stage. Water only at the end though two places to buy refreshments. Nice Medal and options to buy T-shirts ect.

Overall an enjoyable race, conditions were good and a nice place to run.
