← Wuthering Heights Winter Wander

Detailed email received in advance providing pre-event information. Registration followed by great event briefing in the Old School Room next to the Bronte Parsonage, then we were off. Chip timed for this one.

Out through the churchyard, bit of a queue to get through the kissing gate, then out to the hills, on to the moors, out to the Bronte waterfalls, and back to Haworth via the reservoir. Just over a 5mile loop, and repeat (4 times for the 20miler!).

Marshalls and signage all excellent, no risk of getting lost on this one. Mix of tarmac, compact trail, mud, bogs, couple of steep uphills, steady down hills, and all with amazing views across the moors. For January, we really couldn't have hoped for better weather.

I was slower than I had hoped, but this was a tough run. Two steep uphills that I walked, and some refreshing downhills that allowed for stretching the legs. At least 4.5 of the 5miles are definitely run-able.

Lovely medal, delicious cake, friendly runners, and such great marshalls standing out in the cold on the moors for hours and remaining positive and offering encouragement. A must do!
