The Chevin Chase is fast becoming one of those races where it's a 'must do'. The event has been held on Boxing Day for 39 years, so next year will be a big one! You have to be on the ball for entering though - this year it sold out in less than 1.5 hours, as it does every year. Whatever the weather - this race will be on. It's a run where you have Olympic champions in the Brownlee brothers, right down to people like me. There are those in fancy dress, those who are running for the first time. The route starts and finishes in Guiseley and goes across the Otley Chevin. It's 98% off road, 7 miles and a challenge for most people. But - it's fantastic! The local pubs afterwards generally have a discount for runners and there is just a general happy, Christmassy vibe about it. Be quick to enter as its a race worth doing...
