This was my first time doing this run. It cost £22 which is about standard these days. It was very cold weather (3 degrees) but friendly atmosphere upon arrival. The race numbers and timing tags for shoes could be collected on race morning which was easy enough. The briefing was just before the start of the race and it was clear, consise and to the point. There was a 5k and 10k which started at the same time. I'd have liked to see the 2 race starts staggered. The course itself was lovely. It was a fresh morning and despite the race name wasn't particularly muddy but very much off road. It's generally quite a flat route with plenty of turns but it's an ideal trail run. There were 2 water stops for those who need it. There was little local suppport which wasn't surprisng as most of the race is on private ground. However the marshalls were very supportive which is appreciated. Upon finishing you got a medal, mince pie and a cup of hot mulled wine - just what was needed.
The race is 1 of a series of 3 or can be raced as individuals (as I did). Overall it is well worth doing and I'll cdertainly be there next year.
