To get the negatives out of the way first - there were some organisational issues at the start maybe due to more runners participating than they are used to. It starts in a small local town and finding somewhere to park, despite marshals and pre race instructions took longer than expected, then we had to go pick up our numbers and the queue was enormous snaking all round the building in the freezing cold! The queue was so long despite them drafting in extra marshals etc that the start was delayed at least 30 minutes, reason I think it took so long was because you picked your t-shirt up too which was good as it meant you got size you asked for. By the time we had queues for toilets and popped back to car we had to join end of race which meant there were bottle necks for the first 1km but then it thinned out. The course is really pretty with amazing views of the area but there are some pretty steep uphills and downhills which made it more of a challenge! Local support was great particularly those who had set up their own cheer point and there was the most enthusiastic compere I have ever experienced! Finishing you get a nice slate coaster and a welsh cake which was a lovely touch. This race was really good value, something different and raises money for charity so I will definitely be back to do it next year.
