I try and run this every year and I think it’s organisation seems to get better and better. Even though race sold out for the first time and they had extra security checks for the bag drops the start was pretty easy and managed to find and make it into my pen pretty easily. They also had City hall open so you could stay in the warm/ dry and use the toilets there which was nice on a pretty grim day. Despite weather there was still loads of local support with people cheering and handing out sweets almost the whole way round. The course is pretty flat (except a rather steep one by the lake and a little blip just before mile 13) and takes in a lot of sights- castle, barrage, roath park lake. The finish is also very organised with plenty handing out medals and goody bags. Got a well fitting women’s size tech tee, nice medal and a reasonable goody bag (there were as many bags of crisps as you wanted to take...) which makes this race good value for money. Will be back next year.
