← Leeds & Liverpool Canal Christmas Cracker

The forecast was snow, heavy snow! But this event was happening whatever the weather - we're made of tough stuff up north!! I woke up this morning and opened the curtains and.... nothing! Not a drop, I was actually dissapointed. I parked up, collected my number and waited for the start, it was a tad chilly today. I wasn't feeling 100% today so I asked to downgrade from the Half marathon to the 10k, this wasn't a problem at all. Diane and Cath, (It's Grim Up North Running), are always accommodating and nothing is a problem. It was like a who's who today, seeing fellow runners Mandy, Colin, Keith, Karen, Steve and Joni. The route was flat from Kirkstall to Leeds and back, it was a cold, quiet crisp morning with a little ice, but not a drop of snow!! I had a nice chat with a lady who lived local towards the end of the run, it's always nice to meet and speak to other runners. As always, we got a superb medal and a goody bag which included a bottle of beer and a chocolate orange. Then, we had the table FULL of cakes and buns, where to start..... I started with the chocolate orange cake and ended with chocolate orange cake (with others in between).

It's Grim Up North Running always put on superb events and there are distances to suit everyone. They are friendly and worth every penny.
