← Wilmslow Festive 10K

I bought this entry as part of a package with the Alderley Edge Bypass race which I ran back in July.

The race was very well organised, with plenty of email communication in the run up as well as last minute weather advice on the Run North West Facebook page.

The route starts in the town centre and is both scenic and well supported as it weaves through the Cheshire countryside.

I really liked the course although the start was a little congested and the journey back to Wilmslow town centre was slow due to the volume of people walking up the pavements.

This race provides something for everyone in that it is challenging enough for a first timer and also offers a mostly flat course for anyone who is after a quick time.

Despite choosing to run this without any expectations (I’d already had a couple of PBs in the past months) I managed a new PB of 59.43 which I am overjoyed with!  The text notification was such a surprise (and helpful, I like to know how well I’ve done instantly!).

The medal is also lovely. The Run North West medals are some of my favourites and this one didn’t disappoint.

All in all an excellent event and one I would recommend.

Hi Philippa – thank you so much for amazing review and congratulations on a new personal best! We love the mixture of town centre start and scenic country roads, which compliment each other so well so glad you like it too. We’re looking to add more buses in 2018 to help reduce the number of runners on the journey back to Wilmslow as well as looking into options to reduce the congestion at the start. We hope you’ll come back and join us next year and once again thank you so much for your review. - Run North West
