← Waterbeach Running Festival
I have raced the 10k at this event every year since it started and it is a lovely flat and fast 10k around the disused Waterbeach barracks airfield. This is definately a course where you could chase a PB due to the complete lack of elevation change and nice wide sweeping corners. As a result of the course you are on your own with just the other runners and the occasional marshall for company, but there is no chance of getting lost unless you decide to venture off the road!
Water is provided at half way and a medal at the end.
There are a number of shorter races, including a 100m race for toddlers which is great fun and I was able to accompany my three year old on his first ever running race which was great.
All of the money raised from the event goes to support a local pre-school which is also nice.
