← Snowdonia Marathon Eryri

This is my first ever 5 star review and it is well deserved, I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

SNOWDONIA. That's all I need to say to describe the beauty of this course. Now, if you've never been just google some images then book your trip and visit, this is one of my favourite parts of the world.

So they've got an awesome route but have they got the logistics down to back it up? You bet! Registration is in the Electric Mountain Visitor Centre and is open the day before until late and super early in the morning. We turned up early expecting queues but were in and out in a minute.

The start of the race is a short walk away and is probably one of the most relaxed starts I've seen. The compere introduces the race in both Welsh and English and the masses surge upwards to Pen-y-Pass.

The route. I can't describe how beautiful the route is, you just have to go. It is mostly on road but there is a little trail and mile 25 can get a little muddy. I saw quite a few slips this year.

The aid stations and support is spectacular. The aid stations compete against each other for a prize donation to their chosen charity. Oh, did I mention that the race is not run for profit and all proceeds go back into local projects. This probably explains why the locals come out in their droves to cheer and support.

The race finishes back in Llanberis at the Electric Mountain Visitor Centre and you are awarded with a goody bag and a beatiful Welsh slate coaster.

If you're still reading set a reminder for 1 December 2017 and sign up for next year.
