This was my kind of race. Beautiful route, friendly, supportive atmosphere and enough of a challenge to make it interesting. The amount of support from spectators and volunteers was amazing! So many people out cheering on the runners and I have never seen so much candy and snacks being handed out along a course.
The logistics were simple and easy and the route was easy to follow. I was glad I had read race reports beforehand to know that short parts of the course are on trails. The last decent into Llanberis is particularly steep and muddy trail and knowing this I wore footwear appropriate for roads and trails, which I think really helped me as I passed many people cautiously slipping down the mud.
I appreciated the massages at the finish as well as the slate coaster in place of a medal. The design of the race shirt showing the course elevation was also nice (but ladies sizes would have been appreciated).
i can understand why this race fills up quickly and gets such good reviews, definitely one of my favourites.
