The Wirral 10k was a step down from the half marathon the year before but it certainly did not disappoint. I recall last year feeling heartbroken when doing the half when all the 10k runners peeled off to their finish knowing I still had 11.1km to go.
This year there was none of that. The start of the course is lovely and in birkenhead park, from there to New Brighton down the waterfront is a lovely route. It was hot, but there was ample water around the course.
I finished in a respectable PB of 55:46.
The bag drop was great too. Put on a local bus at the start, which then meets you at the finish.
