← Women's Running Race Series - London

I love the the parks of London, they are stunning, and its my subconsious goal to tick them all off my race list. I'm not doing too badly either.

I've walked round Finsbury Park previously and neglected to remember those few steep inclines so was a little suprised when I was met by them. But hey ho! More fool me. At least it wasnt as steep as Greenwich Park. My only really neagitive comment about the course s that it was two laps for the 10km route. Nothing against the organisers, I'm just not a fan, I unerstand it has to be done to get he distance in though.

The marshalls were amazing! They always had words of encouragement and a glorious smile. By the end I was smiling so maniacally I'm surprised I wasn't whisked off to the nearest mental hospital.

The water stations were approximatey every 2-3km, they needn't have been anymore frequent, or have anything other than water. The bottles were the perfect size for running with at 330ml.

I may not have gotten a PB (lets be honest I'm just not putting the effort in I should be), but by gum was the medal worth it! One word: GLITTER. The medal colour scheme was purple with yellow (my favourite colour) writing on the ribbon. The Medal it self had purple glitter on!!! It eclipses all that could have been seen as wrong or negative with the race (which was barely anything) because I am a magpie.

The good bags were brilliant, an assortment of drinks and testers (sorry I've forgotten exactly what was in them). The tshirts were a little snugger than I would have liked, either that or deluding myself as to my true size (I'll let you decide). I have worn it since and although I probably won't go running in it, a little too short, its more than comfortable enough for the gym.

I also reallly appreciated the Boobydoo tent, the two women were lovely and gave us all ANOTHER goodybag. I also used my 20% off voucher to immediately buy a sports bra. I also signed up to their virtual race in aid of Haven.

All in all a great day!!!

I would definitely do again.

P.s. the only reason I marked down safety was because the zoo left a cable unclearly marked along the track. Although not directly the organisers fault, quite a few people fell over, so I just thought this point maybe could have had a few extra marshalls.
